Research interests (previous and current):

• I did some work on utilizing neural networks for the evaluation of tomographic experiments in plasma physics as a diploma student. (Associated publication)

• I studied laser cooling and manipulation of atoms as a Ph.D. student (Associated publications)

• I investigated complex director dynamics, chaos and pattern formation phenomena driven by laser light in nematic liquid crystals as a post-doc at the University of Bayreuth.(Associated publications)

• I studied various possibilities for the coherent manipulation of atomic states using multiphoton adiabatic passage.(Associated publications)

• Currently I am engaged in investigating coherent pulse propagation phenomena and their application in optical quantum memories.(Associated publications)
