DESCRIPTION
The Fibre Channel to S-Link Interface is a standard
S-Link Impementation,
where Fibre Channel is used
as physical layer. This physical layer is fully compatible with the FC(0)
and FC(1) levels of the FC-PH. It is also compatible with the FC(2) level
in the following details:
-
Link initialization and reset protocol
-
Ordered set definition
-
CRC generation and check
For all of the other aspects of the signaling and framing protocol of this
interface special non-standard solutions are used.
SM or MM optical cables with SC Duplex connectors or HSSDC electrical
cables can be used as media between the source and destination cards.
S-Link card code: LSC/LDC-D-33-B-5.0-103.
The interface features
-
Duplex S-Link version
-
32 bit data width
-
UCLK up to 40Mhz
-
26.5625Mhz LCLK
-
Block basis error reporting
-
5 V signal levels
-
Power consumption at 40Mhz UCLK: typ. 5W max. 6W
-
Maximum tranfer rate of 103 MByte/s
-
26.5 MByte/s transmission rate for control information (UCTRL# low)
-
Minimum of 13.2 MHz sampling rate for the return lines
-
Autonomous link synchronization and maitenance
-
Both channels are tested in self-test mode
-
Flow control is provided both in normal and in self-test modes
