Dear Participants,
We are looking forward to an informal mini-Workshop on the Coulomb three-body problem in Budapest, Hungary, during Sept 21 - 25, 1998 entitled
We initiate this meeting as the Coulomb three-body problem is very important to understand for detailed studies of the correlations of particles in high energy heavy ion and particle reactions.
We are interested in finding effective, possibly analytic tools to handle final state 3-body Coulomb problems, especially the Coulomb final state interaction of three similarly charged outgoing states. Results concerning the analytic non-perturbative treatement of Coulomb three-body problem will be presented by E. O. Alt and Z. Papp. High energy heavy ion and particle physics will be summarized by T. Csorgo. Experimental situation and interest in Coulomb three-body studies in high energy physics will be reviewed by B. Lorstad and J. Schmidt-Sorensen.
The meeting is planned to be rather informal, 1 to 3 talks only every day, followed by discussions and actual work.
The final schedule will be flexible, as a framework the organizers propose formal talks with lot of discussions from 9 to 12 a.m, free discussions till 4 p.m. and a brief meeting to summarize discussion results from 4.pm to 4:30 p.m. The focus will be on launching new collaborations among the participants and on an understanding of available tools from few-body studies for handling the Coulomb three-body problem and areas of applications of these tools in high energy heavy ion and particle physics.
We invite you to Budapest to attend this planned mini-workshop, limited to about 7 persons working either on higher order correlations in high energy physics or on the Coulomb problem in few-body physics.
Looking forward to a stimulating and fruitful meeting, Best regards,
Sincerely
